Last post made me decided to delete all gacha games. Again. Just not worth it. Perhaps, one day, someone will finally extract worthwhile games out of them and priced accordingly.
It really can’t be stated enough the sheer enterprise of building them. Sure, in some way it’s no different than, well, other games - except you also need to build and build them more over time, which when you think about it, prettycrazy. Not to mention all the new stuff, too. Stuff like how quite a lot of time the events are basically new (mini)games that’s often very different genre than main game.
And you need to do this in regular candence.
You hear that? Imagine whipping out new small game every months or three. And gacha developers need to do this constantly, over and over again. No wonder it got so expensive!
But the question then, is it worth it?
Well, the same can be said to one of those AAA games, right? Is better graphic and voice acting and ever-expanding things to do worth it?
Of course it’s also us gamers fault, as well. Longer playthrough means there’s more bang for bucks, so to speak. You can do it just with gameplay of course, that’s how 4x games works. But you can’t quite do it with exploration games or so on.
Now I can’t say about other people, but I can say about this myself, which is not. It’s not worth it.
